The PLAN FOR TOURIST EXCELLENCE IN OVIEDO is the product of an agreement between the Municipal Government of Oviedo, the General Secretariat of Tourism, the Principality of Asturias and The Hotel & Tourism Association of Asturias. Its principal goal is to improve services offered to visitors and foster the growth of cultural offerings of high quality, these being the fundamental pillars of development and progress in this sector.

In order to achieve the aforementioned goals, the Plan for Tourist Excellence in Oviedo proposes the enactment of the following programs:

Improvement of Tourism Information Services. This will facilitate access to information, bringing to the forefront of the traveller’s attention all relevant offerings and enhancing information and pick-up services.

Promotion of Quality in Tourism Services. By uniting forces and commitments, both public and private, the common objective of Excellence in Tourism will be better reached. An effort characterized by expansive versatility and cooperation will permit participation by all tourism sub-sectors, as well as other collectives like taxis, commerce, museums, information services, art and crafts, speciality gourmands, etc., which will, in turn, have a direct impact on the experience of the travellers that visit us.

Improvement of city services and tourist facilities. Restoring and improving them for a better and sustained tourist use.

Assigning Proper Value to Tourism Resources and the Development of New Products. It has as primary concen to turn all the potential the city may have into factual tourist product by means of a comprehensive series of measures seeking to improve and enhance substantially the offer, thus ensuring an adequate promotion and marketing campaign.

Local Advertising and Awareness Campaign. Trying to make our citizens and local economic players participate and get involved with our committment to quality.
